Thanks to Howard Hughes, aircraft technology most certainly advanced, including laser guided Maverick missiles, etc and even the Hughes H-4 Hercules, which got an insulting nickname, which I refuse to use, from Hughes’s opponents. In reality, the “H-4 Hercules”, was a magnificent and extremely large airplane! In fact, the largest ever built out of wood! Yup, Howard Hughes inventiveness, and his facination with flying was a valuable asset to America. Was he not treated badly at the end of his life by people who were supposed to look out for him? Broken needles in his skin, bruises and sores, etc? They didn’t even give him haircuts….Tragic. Kind of promotes a mad feeling the way he was treated.
