As a young boy of 5 returning home from school, I witnessed the smoke from this unfortunate accident. I was about 5-6 blocks away. Mom wouldn’t let me go to the site. 8-9 years later, one could still find remnants of the aircraft imbedded in the gully in which it crashed. An unfortunate memory.
