My uncle, Lewis Marshal McCannon, Chief Mechanic Consolidated Aircraft, was initially the only survivor of this crash but he died of a blood clot the next day. He was able to be interviewed by the FBI on possible causes of the crash which turned out to be loose debris jamming the elevator controls.
