Thank you for this article!
My good friend and fellow Lions club member was on board this
fateful flight. He related facts about the incident, during the time
I knew him, Sid Shannon, RIP. He bailed out successfully, from
28,000 ft, and floated down near Tipton , took 22 minutes he said.
Eerily, the bomber circled him as he floated down, within about
100 yards, nearest. The bomber did not actually crash, he said,
It actually landed itself intact, not far from where he landed.
The on fire engine fell off the aircraft, and hit ground in a separate
field. I visited the sites, some years ago, but there is nothing but
farm fields there now. Sid gave me a list of the crew, he was the last
surviving. I will dig up my info on this to provide more details. Your
article had many nice photos. They Army quickly cordoned off the
Plane on the ground , as this was a secret project.

Thank you, Craig. I was not able to find information about any other crew members. That would be very helpful.
